popping eyeballs

Jon sent me a new set of white bushing, different tolerance, so I popped it in and it worked great. I fully endorse this product. The steering is incredible and I'm comparing to off-set M3 bushings with under 10k mi.

I installed a set of the green eyeballs from treehouse racing. The drivers side was impossible to get on so I lightly sanded the control arm. This side makes a popping sound constantly when driving. It even does it when jacking up the car. Any suggestions on how to fix it? Thanks,

Sand the control arm even more.

Is it better for the eyeball to slide on really easily? I noticed that the clunking side wasn't as easy to line up with the holes on the body. The other side was dead on. I'll play with it again tonight.

I've had some popping issues with mine too. I cleaned em' up real well and put a little grease on there and it went away.

I wish someone would find out what the heck is wrong with those things once and for all!! I plan to buy a set as soon as I can set aside the money for them, but I am still apprehensive due to all the reports.

Has anyone questioned Treehouse as to the cause of the problem? Has anyone gotten a serious direct answer from them? If I recall correctly I read that someone from Treehouse was claiming that there were no problems at all with them, yet it seems half the guys on r3v that bought them have complained of the mysterious popping.

Can anyone definitively answer this?

I guess I stand as one of the few who's CABs don't pop.

I tried sanding some more. The driver's side/popping side doesn't install smoothly like the other side. I have to force it over the alignment holes on the body. It pops constantly. I'll give Treehouse a call.

I talked to John at Treehouse today. He is sending me another set of bushings to try out. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

My drivers side started to pop, well it was more of a horrible creaking/pop... even jacking it up (as stated by another user). The treehouse CABS slide right on and off, there should not be hassel for at all (as learned in the review section of this product). I slid off the cab and took some fine steel wool to the control arm. After using my FINE GRADE steel wool, and made it all nice and smooth, the poping went away. It was a 5 minute job, no lie.


I love these things ever since they got quiet.



edit: it might just be the bushing inside, sometimes things are made perfect. Maybe its offset a little on one side ( a little thick even maybe).

Dude, don't quote ME on this thing. I don't even have a set. Recheck the threads on these things, the guys that bought them were the ones complaining. But Ska and Jon are trying to make them right and that's all that matters.
