Big Brake Kits - after sale replaecment parts?

So I was shopping for BBK's and, well here's my dilemma.

What do you do when after you've spent $2k on a kit, and the maker stops making it(or goes out of business)? What do you do for replacement parts?

I know most of the time the parts they use are off the shelf parts (at a mark-up) - but do any of the BBK makers tell you what the replacement parts are actually from? How does that work?

Does anyone sell just the adapter/spacer for the caliper and use OEM parts?

Post removed because – after some thought – I have no business posting here.

Jesus - wow - I really did go off there.. shit.

Another thing to consider would be to go the 5 lug route - which not only opens a lot of doors in the brake department - but the wheel department as well.

I had exactly this issue with Massive Brakes (not that he went out of business but he refused to help me out when I had a problem with one of his kits I sold to a customer.)

After this experience I decided to go my own way and am using rotor hats from an old Massive kit, my own adapters and everything else is stock Wilwood. This way I only thing I really have to worry about Wilwood going out of business.

Oh, and Simon, you're a cock and know slim little what you're talking about. I think you owe the OP an apology and should spend some time reading.

Simon, 2k isn't really that much for a Front&Rear BBK system, it is actually about as cheap as you can go for a kit from someone like Massive.

RX7 isn't much of an upgrade. 5Lug is fine but you still have tiny rear brakes unless you do the mcoupe rear swap, and at that point you should have just done a real BBK in my opinion.

You're right - I was out of line and just went off there.

              OP - I apologize.

I think I'm about $2k into my BBK at this point and it's certainly a real kit and a bigger then anything Massive offers currently. I have 12.72 x 1.25" front rotors and 12.2 x .81" rears with a functional e-brake.

Why not just get some Mazda RX7 calipers and corrado rotors? Much cheaper amd albeit decent.

go wilwood and dont worry about it...

that being said I have stock brakes on my car and I would like to upgrade more for looks that anything else. I have a feeling my new 17s are going to make my brakes look rediculous.
