    What brake pads to buy?

I dont want to spend over $90 for both sets, and I need some very soon.

PBR metal masters Ive heard good things about, but it appears they are nla.

So what are my options? I guess I need new brake discs too. So Brembo for that... or maybe Zimmerman? Ive red up on this and it seems Balo is great too, just that Blunt carries Balo normal and coated. Coated I suppose is unnecessary.. the car is a daily rust wont build up.

So what do you all say?

Does PBR make a ceramic? I did them on the E34, they are excellent so far, like 3500 miles on them. Terriffic wet or dry, cold or hot. No serious spirited driving though, just cruising.

I had axxis ULT, which are pbr ultimates. They were good for street. A bit dusty. I like my porterfield R4s better.

I prefer Brembo blank rotors and regular Pagid pads.

Well Im going to save a bit of money and buy just Balo's.

OEM, and supposedly highest quality oem ones?

Textar seems to be a better compound than Pagid.. nowadays

I think I am going to jump on the Akebono Euro front pads. Ceramic and people seem to REALLY like them. Though most agree they do not have that great initial bite like oem, but they do seem to have VERY low dust

I have a brand new set of OE replacements that I'll sell you cheap. Perfect for a DD. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

I have the Axxis XBG's which were formerly known as PBR Metalmasters. They don't have good cold bite. They are great for consecutive stops but im not a huge fan of them on a commuter. I would go for Pagid pads. As far as rotors, get whatever is cheapest at a local parts store or from a reputable parts supplier (not ebay).

check your local Advance or Autozone regarding lifetime rotors. May not be the best or longest lasting but keep getting new ones every year. We did that with out Neon ITA racecar, every 3 or4 weekends we would walk in and say these are warped. they give us new ones and we walk out! I have put Akebonos on about 15 cars in the last 2 years, almost no dust and pretty decent performance. I put Pagid OE replacements on the wife's MB and can't go more than 3 days without looking like fleet car, dust everywhere!!

^^^ this. I get mine from advance auto,I ask them to keep in stock for me....one set for the track and a set for street..they are cheap, and if you get the pads for the street, you save another10% on pads, when you buy the rotors
