    help with brake pads!

    changed out my entire rotor, hub, and brake pads. ive got everything except the pads put back together. how do i push back the brake piston? because that seems to be the problem

    big c-clamp is what I used.

      I use a large pair of channel locks. Just make sure you put something between the piston and metal. Otherwise, there is a possibility you will chip the piston.

          If you don't have a c clamp, install the caliper on the bracket loosely with one old brake pad. Then with a large flat head screwdriver or pry bar, pry against the brake pad and push the pad toward the piston until its all the way compressed. Does that make sense?

              A caliper piston compressor is like $5 at autozone...

                They're a pain in the ass. Honestly big channel locks are a lot easier to use.

                  I always heard this, but I've had much better results with a piston compressor. I guess everybody is different.

                    lolz its a single piston POS caliper, just use channel locks and done.

                      I use a C clamp at work but if I didnt have that, I would definitely use my method

                        I have switched from using a piston compressor to just using channel locks, its nice having pistons that don't need to be rotated as you compress the anymore.

                        Don't forget to check your master cylinder level before you compress the piston to ensure you don't spew out fluid inside your engine bay and garage floor.
