    E30 brake project

Hi Greetings from Finland, my first project story on this forum :)

We started a brake project with my friend for another friend. I am going to have a similar set up under my own E30 as well.

First we pressed new bearings to the control arm

And the installed 5-lug hubs with slightly bigger rear rotor

Then we test fitted Porsche Boxster caliper, which fits surprisingly well with this rotor :)

Here will be a axial/radial type of adapter. We managed to took necessary measurements easily

Started the front end as well. Need to fabricate a spacer here to be able to use 5-lug hub, not a big deal after all.

With 16" wheel this caliper looks rather small. I supppose we're going to use bigger front calipers. Boxster calipers work fine even with BMW 15" wheels...

After all quite straight forward project to do. We have a lot of experience with different Porsche big brake projects.

Are you using E30 or E36 suspension parts?
For all things 24v, check out Markert Motorworks!

E30, can be easily seen from front strut since E36 hub does not fit directly.
We are going to develop a kit which allows you bolt on directly 5-lug hubs and bigger brakes. Rotors & hubs are BMW items, calipers from Porsche. Adapters will be made in my friends company.

          Jinx.

I used 996 Calipers (same as the Boxter S just not red).

          Front:

          Rear:

'some' 16's fit on the front & 15's on the rear (if you ever want to run drag radials )

                Props for such clean work.

Wheels clear the Porsche calipers no problem?
