DIY ball joint boot cheap replacement?

My (E36M3) control arms appear to be in good shape, however one of the ball joint boots is torn. A pair of new CA's is $500, and just having new ball joints pressed in would be maybe $150 plus the aggravation of R&Ring both CA's. I'm tempted to re-do only the boot per the following link. Anybody here do that or some other boot-only fix to otherwise good CA's?

I cant say for sure about the E36 M3 ball joints but I press out and press in E36 Ball joints all the time on my press and they cost $24 each for outers
