so I'm looking at the AKG subframe bushing kit that raises the subframe assembly 12mm, with the offset diff bushing. Checked some other postings so I understand the drive line geometry issues, and the need to realign the diff. But the 9mm kit doesn't come with the offset diff bushing. So... question #1 is the 3mm difference between the two such a big difference that it necessitates the offset bushing, or would I need to purchase an offset diff bushing for the 9mm as well? #2 The Ireland Engineering rear camber kit, is it better than going with only the bushings? #3 anybody ever done both? I want to take as much camber out as possible, its a dd and the cost of chewing up a set of rubbers every year isn't worth the performance trade off with the type of driving I do with it. Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions? Thanks yo.

1. You can just space the diff down from the subframe 9mm and use a stock centered bushing.
2. Camber gain in the rear is basically linear and about a degree per inch. 12mm takes about a half degree of camber out, 9mm takes about a third a degree out. If you want to take serious camber out of your rear suspension, you will need adjusters.
3. I am doing both 12mm kit (effectively about 9mm since I reused the subframe bushing washers) and the camber/toe adjusters, and it should be back on the ground tonight. It won't be as easy to adjust with a raised subframe ("it veel be nightmare" as the AKG guy put it) but I am going to manage. If you just want to pull camber out of the rear, you may just want to go with the adjusters. They can probably take more than enough camber out unless you are stupid low.

Use the 12mm subframe bushings and spacers to lower the differential by 12mm rather than the offset differential bushing.
More than normal camber on the rear wheels isn't as abusive as having too much toe. Bad trailing arm bushings or bent trailing arms are the likely cause of toe errors. If not too bad, the weld in camber/toe kits (use the AKG poly TA bushings) will fix both the camber and toe errors. But understand that fairly frequent rear alignments will be needed as the adjusters will walk. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

The camber adjusters tend to stay where you set them, but the toe adjusters tend to loosen and move. I originally thought that was due to axial misalignment of the bushings, but now I think it is a combination of the movement of the trailing arm coupled with the fore/aft forces from acceleration & braking. While track duty incurs higher acceleration and braking forces street duty results in greater suspension deflections.
Before I came up with locks for the toe adjusters I was having to reset rear toe and tighten the adjusters after each 20-30 minute race. I'm sure the adjusters will stay tight longer on the street, but they aren't a set & forget mod.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Word of the wise, pass on the 9mm and just go for the 12mm. I am using the 80a 9mm poly subframe bushings and they are way too soft.
It's not that the ride is harsh, but they give you all of the bad of poly without as much as the good. If you go poly it's 75d or nothing at all.
My reasoning for this is because under hard cornering I can actually feel the soft poly give and then unlike rubber, refract back and make the rear end jittery.1985 M10b18. 70maybewhpoffury. Over engineered S50b30 murica BBQ swap in progress.
