i had a similar problem with mine, after changing master cylinder, booster, brake lines, bled the whole system, still had the problem...then decided to rebuild my calipers, when i opened them one was partially clogged, the other one had gunk inside, and the walls of the caliper were getting rusty, i put them back together, and now they work 85 percent better, could be better but im going to switch to the rx7 calipers soon....i also only use pbr brake pads, they have been the only brake pad i have used on my e30s

but bleed and bleed the system

lol same here i used to used bmw fluid switched to ate super blue because i still had a soft pedal... works great since sometimes drivers in cali are stupid and have to hard brake, i dont have a soft pedal, also makes easier to see when you have completely flused the system...

              Let's revive this tread!

I have a 318is 91 and my problem is that I have no front brakes and I have to pump the brake pedal twice to slow brake the car.

Then I was messing around the brake lines in and out the ABS pump.
I discover that, when disconnect the inner front brake line, I have fluid coming out of it, great, but when I disconnect both outer front lines, nothing came out of them.

I have the ABS light on.

So, Does it mean that I have a faultry ABS pump? or I have air into the pump and it doesnt allow me to purge the pump?

WHen I disconnected both front lines from the ABS pump, I pressed the pedal like crazy!! and still nothing!

I bought a ABS pump several months ago, maybe a year I don;t remember, but I just notice that the part number is not the same and I was searching for it and discover that the replacement pump I have, has 12 pins and is an earler model one....

I don't want to buy another ABS pump until I'm sure that that is the problem....

              So what do you think?

BTW I can't engage the ABS just because no matter how hard I press the pedal, the braking is so slow that is impossible to lock the brakes...

If you can't get fluid to go through the ABS unit, the ABS unit is bad. Note that you could also have a bad master cylinder.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Alright I've been serching for a while and I have found a solid answer on what it could be. I bought my e30 a couple of nonths ago with the abs light on but it still brakes. Slowly but it brakes. So I bought a new relay and that made the abs light turn off but I still can't get the abs to engage. I thought e30s just had weak brakes but two months ago I got another e30 and it brakes ten times better than my first. I have swhitched the abs module on it and still same thing. What could it be? Does the mc not work even if the light isn't on? A lot of people start threads but they never put what the solution is. Thanks in advance
