Using race pads (PFC 10, PFC 06, or Hawk HT-10) a Spec E30 can overwhelm and lock up r-comps, which is all the braking force you can use. Add ducting for the front brakes and overheating won't be an issue.

If you want to do this for looks, fine. But don't do it in the mistaken belief that bigger brakes are needed. Use what you'd spend on a BBK to completely rebuild the suspension.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I run 205 wide dunlop Z1 with blunttech's performance brake upgrade I can lock they wheels up with those once the pads are warmed up. you don't need BBK unless it is for the looks.

Or if you have future plans for more power.

Bit off topic but what is the story with massive, why he not on here anymore?

Just get some good pads, Bavarian Autosport's brake bushing upgrade kit (part# CBUK ), and some braided brake lines. That will be WAY fine for your car even with track days.

He quit E30 tech as well. Something about center caps for his wheels.

Sounds about right. The general consensus is that he is very "thin skinned" kind of guy (I hope that's a nice way to put it) and liked to "pull" his site sponsorship when things don't go his way. To each their own. He was never banned or anything like that - I really liked his web site and his sale pitches. That he was good at.

The thing I don't like about BBK's is that the makers won't tell you want the OEM parts they used in the "kit", and what make/model they are from - so when they go belly up, you'll never find replacement rotors and pads. I guess if a company was really nice, they let you know - but then they others could just sell their kits after they are gone - so there's no real incentive for them to let you know. That's why I think e36 m3 set up is the way to go. Cheap, powerful and easy to find. Just my 2 cents.

It would be nice is someone would just sell you the caliper adapter, and say "ok, now buy this rotor, and this caliper" - but I guess there isn't as much money in selling just the adapter.

guess i spend the money on a new m42 single mass fly wheel/clutch kit instead of bbk.
