Brake Pad Carrier Boot

I'm replacing the rotors and pads, and my driver's side front brake pad carrier has a rip in one of the dust boots.

Is okay to drive on this while I wait for a new part? Should I order an entire new carrier or just a new dust boot?

Fine to drive, just pack it with caliper grease. What calipers do you have? I assume because of the reference to 'boot' that they are Girling calipers.

The boots aren't available separetly. You have to buy a kit which includes the pins etc.

So, I'm better off finding the kit or a new holder?

The part number for the kit is 34 11 1 161 936. It should include a new pin, boot and a locking bolt for the end.

That's all you need unless you can find a used one.
