    trailing arm issue

im changing my trailing arm bushings with the ie urethane bushing(the fitment on them is horrible! i had to shave the crap out of them so they would fit!) my problem now is when i try to put the bolt threw the tabs on the armsi can get one side on, then the other side is a few mm's off, is there suppose to be this much tension on the arms? when i unbolted the arms with the old bushings they came right off with out a problem. whats the problem?

I used AKG polly bushes and had no problems like this. I would probably say that because you shaved them they are probably offset now. When I put mine it I had to mallet the poly bush in then the alloy cyilinder.

Have you tried putting the inside bolt in first and then the outside (or vise versa)?

How did you go about shaving it?

If the bushing are correctly made and correctly installed no shaving should be necessary. If the trailing arms aren't bent gentle to moderate persuasion will get the arms into place.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
