    Brake upgrade suggestions?

The next big job I'm doing on my car is brakes. Right now have stock rotors and calipers on there. Looking to upgrade to something nicer.

Don't need anything TOO fancy or expensive. I don't really plan on taking this car on the track, so I don't need race spec brakes. However, I am building this car into a nice cruising canyon carver and would like something a little stronger than stock.

Also, something that looks good behind my Euroweaves.

    Any suggestions?

    thanks!

Uuc bbk seems to be a nice sporty setup , I think you do need to change your front pads twice as often though

If you want to keep a basketweave style wheel, pretty much no BBK is going to fit.

The UUC kit is great but I really think you'd be fine with Brembo blank rotors and a nice set of pads.

Refresh your stock system. It'll outbrake nearly every car on the road.

I agree with others. With a good set of rotors and pads, I don't foresee you being disappointed by your brakes' performance.

Agreed. Upgraded brakes on a street E30 that never sees track time is pretty pointless. If you are REALLY worried about brake-fade toss some decent ducts on the front rotots

              So here's what I'm gathering:
              -refresh stock rotors and calipers
              -nice pads (any recommendations?)
              -new ducts
              -stainless steel lines

              Good?

                Yup

                -nice pads (any recommendations?)

I use Hawks on the racecar without any issues.. tad dusty but fantastic braking performance with Brembo blanks

                -new ducts

Factory ducts work fairly well, although you could whip up a new backing plate and duct direct to the rotor

                -stainless steel lines

Eh, if you want.. on a street car you will never notice the difference. Factory replacement lines are not too expensive either.

                Good?

No, I'd stick with Ate, Balo, Mayle, Brembo at this point.

As for SS lines, you won't notice a difference, but the benefit is that they're pretty close to the same as rubber lines in cost (priced a kit this afternoon) but they'll last a fair amount longer.

OEM stuff is cheap and you know it won't crack.

                      BMA stainless lines are cheap.

                        OPparts stuff is cheapo junk.

If you want a decent cheap rotor, the Meyle will fit the bill. I'd go with Brembo though.

You could also powder coat your calipers while your at it. As far as pads for street use I think a oem type Pagid pad is the way to go with very good cold performance, low noise, decent fade resistance with good airflow; all in all hard to beat for the street.

+1 here too, very very good pad for street/DD

I also like PBRs, they are good on a lot of imports
