    Rear wheel bearing replacement

I need to replaced a rear wheel bearing on a guys car at work. I just had it in the air to ck it out. once the axle is out and the brakes are disassenbled what do you use to remove the hub from the bearing? just hammer it out? Is there a special press tool you need? After the hub is out and you removed the large snapring does the bearing come out easy or is it usuall seized in? Thanks, just need some input before I tell him how much it is going to cost him.

Some use a slide hammer to pull the hub. What I did was use some bolts through the threaded lug holes with something on the backside for them to push onto. The bearing will come apart.

The bearing is pressed in, so even if you take the snap ring off, it won't fall out.
I made a tool using 3/4 threaded rod, some nuts, large washers, 4" id x3" long pipe, and a plate to cap that with a 3/4 hole in it. Pretty easy, with an impact gun.

when i did mine i pulled the whole rear control arm off. then i took it over to a press we had in the shop and pressed out the old one and pressed in the new one. reassembled and went on my way.
