    Powder coating calipers prep Q's

    Hey all,

I painted my refurbished calipers today and they look absolutely terrible, and chip if you even look at them funny, so I'm just going to have them powdercoated. I need them sand blasted first to get all the aweful paint off and I'm curious what kind of prep I need to do to the calipers first. Is masking off the boots enough (I'm thinking no). and if I need to completely disassemble everything, how hard of a job is that to do? Thanks guys!

Best to take them apart, as long as your not a total noob you can do this. You'll need an air compressor to remove the pistons. Blow air into the hole for the brake line, have a rag over the piston while doing this.
