Brake bleeding issue.

    Brake bleeding issue.

    Abs unit was removed to paint engine bay. Manually bleed brakes (pump 3times and hold). The pedal still feels dead. Really soft up to and super hard at the bottom. The two rear calibers bleed fine. The front calibers seem to have low pressure and a lack of flow.
    Do I have air in my abs unit?
    Anyone have this same issue?
    How do I bleed my abs unit ?

    Removed both lines for the front at the abs pump pushed the prdal down and only got one to flow with fluid.
    Can the one side of the abs pump be clogged

    Reyes blowing it out with air no luck tho

      I would try to use a pressure bleeder sense the car has ABS

          The valves in an ABS unit can get stuck and block the flow of fluid. Sometimes, cycling the ABS can free up the valves. Other wise you will have to replace the unit.
          The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

            But my Question is how many valve are in the abs unit? Does the abs unit have two valves for the front brakes? Because I'm getting fluid to the front left not the front right. How do I cycle the abs valves?

              There are three brake circuits and thus three valves. One for each front wheel and one for both rear wheels.

              Take the car out to an empty wet parking lot and brake hard enough to active ABS.
              The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

                  I think he means a pressure bleeding system such as Motive Products Powerbleeder. In all honesty I did not have much luck bleeding the brakes with this system, but it might be worth a shot to see if someone locally has one that you could borrow.

                  Sometimes it does take a lot of pedal pumping to get fluid to flow, and air to travel to an exit.

                      *Not a vaccuum bleeder.

                      I have this unit. Works very well with the problem you have! I removed my ABS Unit awhile ago due to painting my engine bay. I tried to bleed everything regularly as you normally would with a pressure bleeder... (Pump it up with new fluid inside, crack the valve and wait for nice fluid... DONE!) But that didn't work. I still had awful brakes.

                      Here is what i did:

                      -Hook up pressure bleeder to car. Pump it up and leave it alone.
                      -Starting at the tire furest away from the master (as you should) I hooked up my bleeder line to drain into a cup.
                      -Crack the bleeder until fluid starts coming out.
                      -Run around the car to your drivers seat and pump your brake petal consantly with the bleeder open and flowing.
                      -After 5-10 pumps it should get really hard.
                      -Run back and close the bleeder
                      -Repeat this process for the other three wheels.

                      Sloved my problem! I think air gets trapped in the ABS and the pumping of the brakes gets it all out. Its nice to have the pressure bleeder there to keep the fluid moving so no air gets into the system.

                      This should work for you!! I couldn't drive my car either.. So i resorted to this.
