Why? There are several aftermarket bushings available along with OEM which last 100-200k.Comment

I was just more or less looking for the race car. The solid delrin and poly bushings are pretty tight and do not allow the trailing arm to move that freely which stiffens up the rearend the car and doesnt allow me to make softening adjustments that I would like to. Thats all.Comment

I'm kinda new to E30's and was surprised the relatively big aftermarket does not offer what the OP is referring to.
Bearing replacement bushings are very popular for old Porsches, particularly 911's
See here, maybe give Chuck Moreland at elephant a call to see if he can help. I see a real opportunity for the aftermarket in this regard. He's a decent guy.

Thanks for your responses guys, very helpful. I'm going to do something his winter. I'll update my build when I go this route.Comment

There are guys out there that cut the ends off the trailing arms where the oem bushing goes and welded a "screw in/adjustment" end with a spherical bearing.Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205

Heim joints done rather crudely about 15 years (though in this case is was for E30 trialing arms onto an 02).

In my opinion, for 99% this is largely a waste of time (cost/time doesn't justify gain).Comment

But for that 1% where every 0.01 second counts its for the win! :)Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205

The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
