Anyone get a ticking from the front while turning?

The car just started doing this a few days ago. Hard rights get a ticking on the left consistent with wheel speed. It only does it while turning under load. Sounds almost exactly like a rock in the tread but I checked for that. I Haven't had it apart yet but wanted some input if anyone has experienced this too.

I do. I think its the weights on my rims tapping the strut tower.

It may be the wheelbearing starting to need attention. Unless you have that tire rubbing on something that's come loose up front?

i'd guess wheel bearing if you can't see anything rubbing. As the weight bears on that side it could make noise.

Sounds like a wheel bearing to me.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

This is what I suspect. I've just never got a tick from one. I need to tear into it this weekend

its your control arm. my previous e30 was making the same noise when turning, after my control arm replacement it was gone.

How does a ticking that changes with speed come from a control arm?

Well I pulled the whole side apart Saturday. Everything looks good. Under the bearing cap was spotless and there was no play. I found a small piece of blue masking tape wadded between the caliper carrier and the rotor. Removed it and no noise since. Weird

You'd think it would make a ticking noise all the time. Or maybe you could only hear it when the front of the wheel was "uncovered" from the wheelwell. I once found a tiny rock in the brake pad of my Blazer, it was big enough that I still wonder how it got in there.

Well I am thinking that under load of a turn the bearing has some play and it was just enough for the rotor to shift and rub it. Im still a skeptic. We shall see

Its not an IX. Only joints in the rear and it's not them.
