    Dreaded low pedal

This is a story in three parts.

    Part 1
After selling my old 318is with great brake travel and all stock gear except SS lines in the front I got a new 318. The brakes were always a bit shit and would sink in further than needed. I decided fuck it I'm going to move up from here.

    Part 2
Ordered RX7 calipers and SS lines from UUC. Pedal is now worse as far as travel goes. I trace it down to one of my calipers leaking as I tightened the line in too hard and stripped the threads. I replaced the caliper then re-bled the system with a pressure bleeder at 15psi but the pedal travel is still awful.

    Part 3
I install a 25mm brake booster as I've heard that helps travel. I completely bled the system with Super Blue and don't see any more air coming out. The travel is still god awful.

What am I doing wrong? I have no leaks and can hold pressure at 15 psi with the pressure bleeder. I just want this to work like my old car.

brake master cylinder possibly? i know that randomly one day as i approached a light my brakes were gone, the only way i could stop was downshifting and rolling to a stop, only at the floor would the brakes work and only if the car was moving below 5mph. i checked for leaks and refilled system and read that the booster or the master might be the cause, i had an extra master lying around and put it in and sure enough problem solved. if youve checked for leaks and made sure all air is out of the lines and replaced booster with a newer one i would say check brake master cylinder. good luck

I've already replaced the master during troubleshooting with a brand new unit I should clarify.

Are you using a brake bleeder or doing it manually.

          PS. Hi Wes

Did you bench bleed the master before installing?
