cutting bit of brake booster off..

Hi guys doing a Euro s50 swap into my e30 m3 and I've used a smaller brake booster but end still touches the intake manifold. Rather than cutting manifold is there a reason why I can't cut and weld bit of brake booster? What's inside it?? Thanks!

There is a rubber diaphragm in it. Cutting and welding may not be an option.

Ah cool. Does the diaphragm run around the edge of the booster?
