    Control arm bushing woes. Help

So I have a lollipop bracket, with a fresh bushing in it.
I got it onto the actual end of the control arm, but only just.
It's on there about 1 inch and has ~1.5 inches of travel left to be completely attached to the arm.
I do not have the right tools for the job, and it sucks. Can anyone help me devise a method, or tell me a tried and true way, to get this bad boy on?
I've tried clamps, vices, wood blocks, hammers, etc. It's really irritating that I'm having to go through all this trouble when I coulda had it done within minutes with the correct tools

let me know what you know that can help me, I appreciate it e30 folk

I just replace everything on the front end on my car recently. Ended up installing the control arms with out the cabs on. What a PITA! I tryed soap, oil , windex and heat NOTTA. So thinking how this was going to work, I had a bright idea to use a spare tire jack. However i had my car sitting on bottle cap wheels as jacks so i sat the jack sideway and pressed the CAB in , Once I got to the control arm i used a 19mm socket to push the rest in.

Never again will I not install cabs on one the control arms lol . GOOD LUCK.
Also maybe having the car on a lift would be alot easier.

                  +1 for dish soap.
Greased top and bottom of bushing with it, no luck, started wiggling it and it started coming off so i figured I'd just take it off and take the bearing grease I had in there off, I read somewhere that it's bad cause it will never dry. Did that, and covered everything with a good amount of the soap and it went on like a charm, first try, no resistance whatsoever. thanks guys
