    Brakes Clunking

I searched around everywhere and couldn't seem to get a good solution to this...

So the Issue I've been having is when I go over bumps, even the smallest ones, I get a really annoying, terrible-sounding rattle / metallic clunk type noise. In December, I overhauled the entire suspension - H&R sport springs, billies, all new bushings, tie rods / ends, control arms / ball joints, wheel bearings all around, and a new clutch. I had to take apart the front suspension in a parking garage one day because I left out two washers on each strut assembly which was causing the steering to bind. Since then, this clunk has happened. Video of noise:

Basically, the bracket and caliper slide bolts are tightened all the way, rotor is good, pads are good, and there is still play in the assembly. I believe these calipers are original, ATE ones. The problem seemed to be because the rubber deal in which the pin slides was worn down, and it was allowing it to move too freely. So I bought some rebuilt calipers off RockAuto (Powerstop brand, were pretty cheap but seemed nice). I put those on and I still have the same problem.

I was wondering what the hell the issue is. Could they not be bled right? I'm not all that knowledgable about brakes, but it seems like when the pedal is released the piston is not contacting the pad at all. Should it be like this or is it not bled right? Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Thanks, JB

Edit: In addition, if I apply the brakes even very lightly over bumps, the noise goes away.

What is making contact? Is it the pad and the rotor? Or is the caliper making contact with something? It's a good thing if the caliper slides easily on the guide bolts. Usually the issue is it doesn't slide well, and the pad ends up rubbing on the rotor after releasing brake pressure.

A noise only when the car traverses bumps won't be from the calipers. It will be from something in the suspension.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

It is from the calipers. The noise goes away when the brakes are applies. When I took off the wheel, and shook the caliper like in the video, the caliper bangs up against something like there is too much play in the slide pin area. Is there a way to adjust this or what? I'll have more details tomorrow when I take it apart again. Thanks

I have a similar cliper problem, maybe different. Redid suspension and no problems until the other day and whenever braking, the passenger front side makes clunking sound and seems to be grabbing too much. If driving without brakes, no problems. I was just going to replace the caliper, but thought I'd check and see if this could be something else.

is the anti-rattle spring still intact on the brake pad?

It was the caliper bolt, it isn't there, replacing tomorrow.
