    Revshift RTAB Issues

So I promise this will be my last revshift bushing question, I've just got all my RTABs in and i am having some minor issues,

Firstly, the inner sleeve of the bushing is shorter than the bushing itself, here's two opposite sides of one bushing where you can see it

The major question that i have though is that there is a gap between the bushing and the mounting point on one side of the subframe but not the other, the gap is minor, but with this being an important mounting point i thought it might cause some issues, thoughts?

    Side with gap

Same bushing on the opposite trailing arm - no gap

fyi - I haven't torqued anything down yet

Considering how small the gap is, I wouldn't worry about it. The tabs will pull in slightly and get rid of it.

As far as the tube goes, It likely won't be a problem. Probably due to a slight variation in width of the trailing arm tubes. It may make the subframe grab the bushing though when tight and tear or deform it. How much too short is the tube? Looks like only 2mm or so, right?

^ he could also use two or four washers to make up for the tabs bending in. I feel like the tabs bending would lead to more weakness.

The problem with washers is that unless the washer is the same outer diameter as the bushing, the bushing will be unsupported on the end, possible causing damage to it.

It also doesn't look like even a single washer would fit. The gap is only about half the thickness of the subframe tab, which is only a few mm thick to begin with.

Well thats I would use. Washers the same diameter as the bushing its self and on to fill in the gab with or stretching or bending back the tabs tobe safe,

thanks for the replies guys, i was mainly just worried about possible damage that could have caused the gap but i think it may have just been the bushing itself being too short, ill measure it and report back.

I've been looking for a washer that would fit, but it looks like im going to have to sand the diameter and the thickness down off of one

That is just not right. The sleeve should be even or slightly proud of the bushing and the length of the sleeve should be the same as the spacing between the brackets. Check that dimension at the bottom of the brackets just above the subframe tube. The brackets could be bent and have more room at the top.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

The tabs on the subframe vary a bit and bend fairly easily. That gap is pretty small and not unusual. Tighten it down and see what happens.

The sleeve inside the bushing is almost flush with the bushings when they are not installed. There should be a little difference so the bushings squish slightly and are held snug by the subframe tabs. Install the bushings into the control arm first and then install the sleeve. If you don't do it that way then air will get trapped between the bushings preventing them from seating all the way into the control arm.

You can also contact us if you have any tech questions like this. We do have these bushings installed on our shop E30.
