sounds like you've made up your mind. Go ahead and do the five lug, but if it's just a street car it doesn't make sense as mentioned before. A nice set of 16x8 BBS is all that touring needs
Esthetics or aesthetics - hell yeah! I want them big brakes cause they look cool behind them 17's while I cruise around town with the stereo playing geezer rock.

damn I always get wood when I see "your" MM 328 coupe......no wonder I love my just as funky Z3 coupe.......
oh yeah , your wheel choices.......you've gotten some good advice here but yet you seem pre set on what you want. Go w/ your heart...but you really dont need 5 lug......e 30 brakes when properly done are more than enough for street. Looks wise...thats another story, but you seem to have a jones for 5 lug.
This attached pic is just bugging me. There's something very wrong with the rotor under that wheel. It looks undersized, and its not just the large wheel giving it an optical illusion type of weirdness. If you do some math comparing the wheel diameter to the rotor diameter I get the following:
16" wheel => 9" rotor
17" wheel => 9.56" rotor
18" wheel => 10.1" rotor
19" wheel => 10.6" rotor
20" wheel => 11.25" rotor
The wheels don't look huge, I'd guess they're around 17", maybe 16". But the stock rotor size is 11", so it looks like the rotor has been replaced with a smaller diam. one. What the hell?
Does anyone know whose car that is? Is that really a 11" rotor? What size are those wheels?
An 11" rotor is really a good sized rotor for a small to mid sized sedan. It really doesn't look puny under 16" or 17" wheels. But hey, maybe thats just me.
Damn, I'm wrong. I hate it when that happens. I was digging around for another pic to compare to. Found this one, the rotor size looks normal on a 17" wheel. Doing the math comes up with the same numbers for wheel/rotor, 1.75. That first pic must make the rotor look small due to the thinner rim on it.
