    brake issues after 24v swap

    Hey guys,

I am near the end of my s52 swap and my brakes are the only thing that seems to be of problem, maybe?.. I have installed a 944 booster, actually the 2nd one so far, thinking that the first one had issues.

Basically, I can't seem to quickly brake when needed, the pedal is firm and it takes more leg muscle than stock setup.. Car has sat for 3ish months during swap.. I have bled the system of all air I believe, fluid seems to leave the front pass caliper extremely slow compared to others (idk if a problem?).. Just looking for some help troubleshooting!

    Thanks!!

I have a 320i booster in my swap. Brakes are more wooden than stock. Just takes some getting used to. Not sure about the fluid running slowly. I've never noticed anything like that during bleeding....

Do some squats. I have an e21 booster and the brakes are awesome.

i guess so.. but really, i have what feels like no power brakes so I'm assuming thats not standard with the 944 booster?

You need to check the booster adjusting rod. If its too tight, you will have brake drag. If its too loose, you will have a hard pedal.

is that on the master side or the pedal side?

Pedal side. Adjust at the clevis.

Make sure the pistons in the calipers are not stuck. Check for rust on the rotors; a sure sign the calipers are stuck. Could be collapsed brake hose as well. They deteriorate and swell on the inside. If you are getting plenty of fluid out of the bleeders though, the lines are likely fine.
