Brake pedal does nothing

So after removing my front calipers for a rebuild I realised that i would need to install them again to push the pistons out. After I did that, i tried doing the usual brake bleeding procedure as i have done for the rear brakes and nothing happens. I push the pedal in a couple of times, with the bleed nipple open and the brake fluid level in the reservoir stays constant, brake pedal doesn't feel too soft but the pedal doesnt firm up as the pedal is pushed.

Other car info is that im doing a suspension overhaul so i've rebuilt the rear calipers and bled them succesfully so i dont think im making any mistakes there. Also, the car has been sitting for the past 6 months (:() and i've accidentally let the battery run flat.

I assume you are having someone close the nipple before you release the pedal from the floor?

I've got a clear hose filled with brake fluid connecting up to the nipple and back down to a bottle filled with brake fluid so i can see if air is coming out of it and nothing is coming out of it

Bleeders might be clogged. Try removing them completely and see if you can get anything to come out. If not, could be a collapsed brake hose or metal hardline somewhere. If you can't find any problems there, your master cylinder might be bad.

Thanks, i hadn't thought about them being clogged, hopefully that's it, i really dont want to have to replace a mc

Okay so there was nothing clogging my bleeder so instead i tried to bleed the other side and it worked fine, this leads me to believe that i have a clogged rubber brake line at the troublesome caliper so i will replace that and report back

Before you replace it, try cracking the fitting loose at the hardline. If fluid comes out you know it's the rubber line. If not, the problem is elsewhere.

Yeah i did end up doing that and the hardline was fine, I tried blowing through the rubber line and i can definitely hear something lodged in there, a cheap fix thankfully
