Anyone experience Febi or Bavauto control arms.

I'm reading bad reviews on both. So, anyone have good reviews.
I'm not interested in buying Lemfoerder, Meyle or anything over $70 because I don't plan on keeping the car long.
This is a daily driver car on the streets of Los Angeles.

There aren't any good reviews of the cheap junk because it is cheap junk that doesn't last.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

        Lol, good point jlevie.
I should have gone with the bavauto arms w/ 2 year warranty, but I chose the Febi from Pelican only because it takes a day to ship and that $15 difference between the two might actually make a difference. Will post results.

The new batch of Febi's are actually the best I've tried.

The control arm came in today, but I'm having trouble removing the inner ball joint nut.

Push up on the ball joint back with a floor jack, that should help hold it in place

I tried getting a crescent wrench on there but not enough leverage. Tried using a socket but I think the subframe was in the way.

Subframe in the way? It mounts to the subframe! Use a wrench. A stubby sometimes helps too once it's broken loose.

Haha. I looked under today and there's a shield for the motor mount in the way to put a socket on the nut. Are there nuts holding the shield or part of the motor mount? This is on the driver side btw

Just to pitch in, I have Febi control arms on the front and they work just fine. I'd say there a good cheap alternative to OEM. Apparently Febi control arms are made by Bilstein. I have no problem trusting Bilstein with suspension parts.

Problem is though that there's been reports of conterfit (sp??) Febi parts floating around. This has not been rumored or reported for Lemforder. And jesus, E30 control arms are only like $95/each from Pelican. I run E30 control arms on any E36 I have. They're cheaper than E36 arms, basically the same arm (exact same geometry) and have the solid balljoints, unlike the 'cushioned' ones in an E36. And I run stock offset M3 solid rubber CAB's.

If you're on that kind of a budget - I think I'd recommend replacing the balljoints themselves in the arms you already have rather than buying cheap control arms. IDK about the BavAuto control arms, but you couldn't pay me to buy anything from them. I'm a VERY satisfied Pelican customer, and have had more than a couple bad dealings with bavAuto.

I bought the Febi control arm from Pelican Parts since it's only 20 minutes away. I always trust Pelican, but sometimes I like that magazine that Bavauto gives, lol. But I think I made the right decision at $70.
