Cross threaded MC brake line fitting

I don't even want to admit it but I did it. Was putting master cylinder back in and cross threaded a fitting slightly. From searching it looks like my option is to tap it/re-thread it and risk metal shavings or buy a new MC. It's a 25mm mc so I don't know where to get a cheap one. Is re-threading really an issue? Any other ideas?

It did. A little double 0 steel wool cleaned the boogers. Brass fittings into aluminum. Brass wins.
