Is it all the time, or just when they're cold?

not when cold but all the timeag after i have braked a few times. i am assuming it is something with the rotors/pads heating up.

the problem with buying cheapos are that they are made in diffrent places and in diffrent factorys and you usually get some that were made diffrent and sqweek. Thats what the guy at BMW northwest told me anyway... i had the same thing happen in my old E36. he said next time go with OEM bmw or a well knows respected name.
(can anyone varify the cheapo claim that i just stated?)

Actually the cheap pads that came on my car squealed more when they were hot. Sitting in traffic when its 90+ outside, they seriously sounded like a schoolbus. I have Pagids now which seem relatively quiet, but will be changing to Hawk HP+'s soon.
