    parking brake cable removal

I need to drop the rear subframe from a wrecked shell and the parking brake cables are the last thing to disconnect. What's the easiest way to remove those. The nuts are gone at the lever, but a modest tug from underneath is not moving anything.

They're probably just catching at the lever. The ends tend to get slightly hooked on the ends of the tubes in the cabin. It's easiest if you have an extra person to have them help guide while you pull from the bottom. If everything is loose you might be able to push the cables down a bit to get past the hangup point.

matthugie, that worked perfectly - Thanks. Now the subframe is 3/4 off but hanging on the bottom of the bolts. Any tips on nudging it the rest of the way? It's a convertible so getting to the top of the bolts would be a pain.

It's off. It helped to jack up both trailing arms so their weight wasn't hanging cockeyed off the bushing bolts. Then was able to use modest force with a small pry bar and they came right off. Thanks for the help!
