    akg rear subframe bushing question

How come the shaft inside the akg bushing doesn't go all the way down like the OEM one? Is it suppose to be like this? Does the subframe bolt have something to do with it?

Nothing on the rear subframe bushing. I'm trying to find a diy, but no luck with answering my own question.

I went ahead and tight everything up and went for a drive, the clunking noise from the rear is still there. Look like I will need a new driveshaft now.

                  Those bushings look fine.

What is this new noise? You should't need a new driveshaft. What else did you touch? Did you torque it all down correctly?

So the akg bushing are design that way? I was just carious since the stock one has its center piece goes all the way down. All bolts and nuts are torque within spec.

About the noise, It was there before I swap the subframe bushing. After searching for answer, many told me it was the subframe bushing. After the bushing swap, the clunking noise is still there. After further searching, someone on bimmerfest posted a video of a bad u joint and he was having the same noise from the rear.

What's the noise? Also, do you have a poly diff bushing or is it old and decrepit?

Its a clunking noise from the rear. The diff bushing is the stock solid rubber.
