hey r3v, heavy time lurker here.i might sound like an idiot but im still an e30 newbie. i just did a routine brake job and everything went fine until it was time to put my wheels back on. i put them back on and now they wont clear my calipers. i have girling calipers if that helps.

Friend of mine had that problem with his car. Had kopi alpinas 17s. I believe the pad was hitting the wheel. No explanation why, I believed he did his brake job wrong and after redoing his brakes issue still occurred. Grinded down sides of pad and still caused issue. Ended up rocking spacers.
Did u make sure the pad is sitting correctly because when pushing them back on they can sit cock eyed.

I'm gonna go with....
when you originally installed your new reeymz your brake pads were fairly worn down. What this indirectly caused was the outer face of your caliper to be closer to the rotor. Clearance with your aftermarket reeymzzz was good.
Then, you replaced the worn out brake pads with new ones, probably effectively moving the outer face out the caliper out about a half inch or so. All the sudden - boom, clearance is gone and the caliper is hitting your reeymzzz.
