Rear wheel alignment? Is that a thing on E30s?

im doing a suspension rebuild. The two middle brackets on the subframe have huge holes which, to me, looks like the bolts was hitting the sides of the bracket and made such huge holes. So i decided to weld some metal on it to reinforce it. When i went to my friend mechanic, because he was a welder, he told me that the holes might of been drilled for rear wheel alignment.

Is that even a thing on e30s? I dont think i have ever heard about aligning rear wheels on the e30? Is there a possibility that the factory holes are no aligned?

    thanks

The only thing adjustable for alignment on an E30 is front toe. Rear isn't adjustable at all.

Are you talking about the bolt holes that the differential uses?

I am not sure about just drilling larger holes and making it work.

what i have seen, there are kits that weld in and give you slots instead of holes. then you use eccentric bolts to make the adjustments.

adjusting rear toe/camber is a thing for e30s, but you have to modify the subframe or control arms.
