    Rx-7 Brake Upgrade, bad response?

    Hey guys,

I did the rX-7 Brake upgrade a while back and finally just got the car running and driving. It seems my brakes are actually worse now that I swapped in the RX-7 Brakes in there.

I bled the brakes, got a new distributor valve (distributes fluid to front and back, and the pads have plenty of life. I also took out the ABS system.

But now that I have done all of that the car is pretty hard to stop. I can stand on the brakes and they wont even get close to locking up. I almost feel like I'm in a 1950's car with all drum brakes lol.

What do you guys think would cause such a slow/bad response? The only thing I could think of would be bad brake booster and or master cylinder. What do you think?

    Thanks

You opened up and introduced air in a lot of places in the braking system. It sounds like it might just need a more thorough bleeding.

is the pedal firm? or does it have to move for a while before it gets firm?

if it's not air, then definitely check your master cylinder - i had the same issue where my car sat for a good while (1.5 years) and after finally finishing the engine swap my brakes sucked dick. turns out the master was bad - after replacement everything was honkey dory
