    Rx7 upgrade

Hi so I'm interested in an rx7 upgrade. I'm not really sure what I'm gonna need so far what I know about are:
    1990 rx7 calipers
    1990 corrado rotors
The brackets for the caliper to fit
I would like to know what else is needed please

    I found this..

For all those people who find it more convenient to bother you with their question rather than to Google it for themselves.

lol. don't waste your money on rx7 brakes, they're really not much of an upgrade when you account for the difference in hydraulic pressures and rotor size.

that and the only reason why you'd want bigger brakes is for track use, that being the case why get a set of rotors that are getting harder to come by AND have to be machined before use.

either get something from massive or spend $200 for some hub adapters that'll let you rock e46 brakes in the front http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=306268 and ball on a budget

i had e46 brakes on my unboosted car and it was pretty damn impressive how powerful they were. can't imagine what it'd be like with a booster

If I was able to fit the e46 brakes without the 5 lif conversion I would. Was wondering if I can put brake calipers from the ferrari 348? Or from the porsche 944 turbo?

uuhhh those are some weirdly specific caliper options... do you have sets of those calipers laying around or something?

regardless, the answer is yes - there's no reason why you couldn't use those calipers provided you had enough wheel clearance. only catch being is that you'd have to either design/make brackets yourself or pay someone to do so

only issue would be rotors - that's where a large portion of the braking power comes from too. maybe lee from massive would be willing to just sell you the tophats for his kit (probably not though)

I don't have those calipers lying around but I can et them easy. I just think having ferrari brakes would be pretty unique. How would I know what rotor to get? Is it as long as it fits or what?

sorry but i think the ferrari caliper idea is just bad. would it be interesting at car shows? sure. but practical? definitely not. sure, you might be able to get a set easy now, but what if one of the 20+ year old calipers starts leaking? literally one of the first results on google for "ferrari 348 caliper" brought up a link with a dude going "help! no rebuild kits for our calipers anymore!"

IMO if you wanna do some real badass custom brakes get yourself a pair of e46 330i front rotors, redrill them to 4x100 and make some brackets to bolt some ls400 calipers up. supra guys use these calipers as an upgrade as they stop 4k+ pound luxobarges pretty quick... just imagine what it'd do on your 2500lb-ish e30
