    Stock trailing arm bushing install

I took the rear trailing arm bushings out last November and got side tracked with other projects. I believe the heads of the bushings point away from each other. Can I get a photo or confirmation? Thanks.

Judging from the images here, I think you're right. (assuming by "bushing head" you mean the thicker end of the bushing).

The collar or "head" always points outboard of the arm. The outer bushing collar points to the outside, the inner one points inward.

This is a great page on doing this job. One thing they don't mention about using the tool. Take a torch and heat up the housing a bit. If those bushings have been in there for awhile, this makes the job of getting them out MUCH easier. Don't burn them or anything... just enough to get a wee bit of smoke, then put that backyard tool on it. Comes out in a jiffy.
