    brakedust

    Hi,

I just recently found this problem, because i`m not washing my car everyweek anymore.
but i notice that my left front wheel gets darker from the brakedust than my right front wheel.
is it normal that it gets pretty dark after 300-600 miles?
or the other way around, that my right front wheel doesn´t get this black.

last week i jacked up the car and noticed that de frontright isn´t turning totally free, but it´s not like the car wants to turn left on the highway.

    so my question to you:
is my LF wheel braking to much or isn´t running free.
or is my RF wheel not braking enough...

I let the bmw shop perform a braketest with the yearly vehicle inspection and the difference betweek wheels wasn´t that bad

by the way, when i swapped to ventilated brakediscs I didnt change the calipers. i hope that isn´t the problem because i beleive i throwed them away

This could be a case of a sticking caliper which won't affect affect braking performance but can cause dragging of the pads. The fix for that is a rebuild (or replacement) of the calipers and new soft lines. If the car has ATE calipers, the guide bushings and perhaps the guide bolts may need to be replaced.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
