    e36 m3 brakes

What is involved with installing e36 m3 brakes onto an e30 m3? I have access to some e36 m3 brake calipers with brackets, but I'm not sure what else I will need. Thanks.

    MZ3 trailing arms
SBi rotor spacers for front to centre disc
Modified ABS sensors in the rear
    Custom rear brake lines

I too am doing the swap.

For the front you will need the E36 M3 ft struts and the M3 spnidle/knuckle .
Or use regular E36 non-M struts with modified spindles/knuckles .

Or the other option is to use the SBI rotor spacer kit that allows you to run them on the E30 M3 struts/spindles .

For the rear calipers you will have to run the Mcoupe or Mroadster ttrailing arms like Smoodiver mentioned .
But the rear E36 M3 rotors will NOT fit on the MZ trailing arms .

E36 M3 Rotors and M-coupe and roadster rotors are IDENTICAL. Of course they fit.

Ok, so if I keep the stock e30 m3 struts, all I need to do is get the SBI rotor spacer for the front?

There is no way to get the rear brakes to work with the stock e30 m3 trailing arms?

Would it be bad if I upgraded the front brakes, but left the rears stock?

            Doh !

Must have been drunk posting again .
Just got carried away with trying to point out that the rear CALIPERS won't work .
Yes the rotors are indeed the same exact part with identical part #'s .

As far as running the E36 rear brakes on E30 triling arms ...I don't think so .
All of my E30 M3 buddies are running the MZ trailing arms to get them to work .

My set-up consists of E36 ft struts w/E36 BBK and M-Coupe trailing arms complete with brakes and halfshafts on the rear .

That doesnt make sense, when you think about the fact that Z3 hubs and brakes can be mounted to the E30 trailing arms.. but i do know that the M-Z3 uses a much larger wheel bearing out back than E30's and 6 cyl Z3's so maybe the hub flange is different as well and for some reason makes it impossible to mount the M brakes to non M trailing arms.. maybe some z3 enthusiats can clarify that... i dunno if ive ever seen an M brake swap done on a non-m Z3
