Looking for a definitive answer to Girling/ATE MC question

    I have a 1989 325i convertible.

It has ABS, and the Girling MC and brake booster. I'm having trouble finding the correct Girling MC to replace it with.

I've searched and seen threads on R3V that state that you absolutely cannot put an ATE MC on the Girling booster. I've also seen threads that explicitly stated that you can mix and match them.

My questions is, I'd like to do the E32 750iL MC upgrade, but this is an ATE part.

Can I put the E32 MC on my car ( this part https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...ro-34311156643 ) or not?

After much digging, apparently the ATE and Girling boosters and master cylinders are interchangeable, and the E32 booster is no different.

I have, however, decided to stick with the stock replacement, as there are quite a few mixed opinions on the E32 master cylinder. Many say it makes the pedal too hard and can be tiresome.

I ended up ordering the ATE part to go on my Girling booster, and will respond to confirm it for the sake of anyone else searching.

ATE master cylinder fit perfectly on my Girling power booster.

Despite claims made elsewhere, the Girling and ATE master cylinder and brake boosters are completely interchangeable. Even my girling fluid reservoir fit onto the ATE cylinder.
