    broke my brake line

I was taking off the rubber brake line that is up behind the diff and i broke the hard line. It was on the left side of the car and I am thinking its number 12. I havent investigated yet but am I going to have to drop the gas tank? I dont have my diff in and i thought this was going to be easy to change. sucks for me.

If so, too bad its not shaped like that! No you dont have to drop the tank, Its a pain in the ass but if you get your self a good tubeing bender (not autozone) OTC or Kentmore. That will do bends of 180* and a ISO (bubble) flaring tool kit. You could have your self fixed up in about 1/2 hour by useing the old 1 for a template. Take some spare tubeing and try a few flares to get the hang of it.

I had the same problem on mine. The bender will be about 25-50 bucks and the flaring tool kit 45ish and 18 inch pice of brake line with the ends will be less than 5 bucks.

Im in the same boat... Nearly all the hard lines in the rear the bolts were rusted through. The second I began to attempt to get them off with a flare wrench the bolt basically began to crumble. I had planned on ordering the new lines from the factory, but its posted that they are unbent. That sucks.

                  Goodluck.

Luckily I have a friend that works at a local Merceds dealer that is willing to lend me the right tools to make my brake lines.
