got a set of C5 Corvete brakes

I have a friend that gave me a set of stock C5 Corvette brakes. Front and back. These things are so huge its sick. I would like to know of any kit out there that uses these brakes? And if so can someone shoot me a link so I can see if they would sell the brackets and rotors!

    TIA!

Sounds like you have some fabricating to do. Doesn't IE use some Vette stuff?

I have two pairs of IE center hats, both with 330x28mm rotors. One set drilled, one set slotted, both slightly used. I'll get some pictures this week. Will fit the front calipers perfectly.

Chris, I thought the IE big kits used Mustang Cobra calipers?
Same dimensions at Vette, or am I totally off-base?

Vedubin, funny, a friend of mine was also given some C5 front and rear brakes, though he's trying to fit them to Rockwell axles to install on a Jeep ZJ.

            edit: Unimog axles, not Rockwells..

I believe the IE kits use the Mustang Cobra/C4 Vette calipers. The calipers on the C5 are very different from the C4's.

                Right and right,

but the c5 vette calipers fit the same size rotors as IE's kit.

How much unsprung weight is this going to add?

[soapbox]those concerns will be outweight by improved braking performance[/soapbox] ...
realistically, it lost some weight thanks to coilovers, well, at least in front axel.

                        Not sure Luke,
i'll have to take a look.
It's IE's original BBK, blast from the pass when they saw it :)
never the less Jeremy had parts for them there.

Here's the front setup, lost dust shield too.
was able to fit 16's over them so going to measure rotors as they're suppost to be the large set.

by the way, is there a link to "how to make thumbs" ? sorry for huge pics.

Damn, Frank, how are you dealing with all of that unsprung weight? You should put helium in your tires...or maybe hydrogen!

Just giving some shit. Like it matter much on poor old POS 20 year old piss-ant designed BMW suspension...still, I love it.

Anyway, what is the adapter bracket made of? Looking at it, seems like I could make them with a piece of 3/8" aluminum and bolt 750i calipers on a set of Audi rotors, just like 300mm.de does, except $250 cheaper.

I wanna get ready to drop big rotors on this beast before these pads wear out!

                            Lol, hahahah.
                            easily, by adding 2x12"s, 2x8"s, 4x5 1/4"s, 3 amps, 1 cap and lots of wire :)

remove whole a/c aparatus and dead weight from trunk.
also, Euro bumpers reduce another 10 to 15lbs at each end., that's a critical area., removed ragtop,i think she's pretty much curb/wt even at the end., not counting rims/tires that is.

Just giving some shit. Like it matter much on poor old POS 20 year old piss-ant designed BMW suspension...still, I love it.
                            yeap, i know. it's all fun :)
neibour has a '28 Bathtub, expose engine with crome headers and side pipes, Herman Monster rims, vanilla covered in orange flames. you tell me. :) that thing it's sweet.

                            uhm, more like 1/2" thick.
Corrado rotors do work, like $ 28 each, C5 calipers go for $ 250 on ebay.

Front one looks like it's easy to outsource, but the rear, look at the inner part, see those bands., those are add-ons.

You'll nedd a 25mm MC to get enough fluid into them, 89 750's have them, straight swap too., tried oem and it was a no go.

I don't run a Bias Valve as ,this car does not see track, spirited canyon drives ? YES !

Rear it's mono piston, they perform great, I would rather have twin pistons, just matter of personal taste., rotors are ventilated.

here, more fire to the BBK controversy, my MtnBike has 2 calipers, yet 12 pistons and Ti bolts. what gives ?,
Yes, I could lockup the old 6" rotors and monopiston setup, but the new 8" rotors and 6 piston per caliper design stop me in a dime.
