    ABS pump vs module failures?

A pump is a pump. The ABS module I assume is the electronics controlling the system. Is it the pump or the module that is more likely to fail? What are the symptoms of a pump failing?

I’m learning more about these. The pump is just a simple electric pressure pump that runs when the unit is activated. The rest of it is an alum manifold with ports and a bunch of solenoids that open valves momentarily. The “module” is the “ABS Control Unit” per BMW. That reads the wheel sensor info and tells the unit under the hood to activate.

So if the light is randomly coming on (meaning the system is disabled), and when the system IS on, and the brakes and pedal vibrate on dry ground, that’s sounds more like a switch (control unit) problem than a pump problem. We’ve changed the relays - no change.
