    ABS system woes

    This started 2 days ago..

--While driving playing with the throttle (not applying any brakes) to hear sweet melodies the Anti-lock brake light fires up and kept coming on after driving away directly upon start up.

-- The day following no problem whatsoever.

--Now today... while braking normally, dry surface at an intersection I feel one pulse-like in the pedal & YUP light's back on!

What is the worse case scenario and what would be the best case??

The first time this has happened was about a year ago when I was driving hard and the light went on. After pulling over and switching off the car completely the light never went on on the drive home. I at the time linked it to old-age and the "system" getting confused. Didnt't know any better and prolly still don't.

    Help..
    Mtechnik.

That sounds like it might be a crudded up or bad wheel speed sensor. The first thing I'd try would be to pull each sensor and clean it off.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

My tech checked it out this morning, the front driver sensor cable is all damaged. Turns out somehow it was rubbing against the inner tire all along and you can clearly see the mark on the tire too.

He's gunna check around to see if he's got a spare one to yank out a parts car. Or isn't this a good isn't this a good idea?

The dealer quoted € 99.96 for the part.

Still if any other ideas/experiences keep em coming.

        thnx.

The wires can be repaired with some heat shrink tubing and a soldering iron. But if you can get a good used sensor that will work also.

Also can be the pulse wheel being corroded on the CV shaft or front hub. My ABS would pulse every time I came to a stop at about 5 mph and below.
