    ? ATE or Girling ?

I have both ATE (from '87is) and Girling (from MYSTERY 'E') calipers. Which should I use?

Same here about the girling. I switched my e over to girling calipers and they are great.

The Ate have a better design of the sliding pins that don't get corroded and seized up like the Girling ones. Ate calipers are hard to find, but if I had a pair I'd prefer them.

you can get brass guide bushing dohickeys for ATE calipers (see turner motorsport), not for girling. There is talk that the girling one is a better design though.

The Ate and Girling calipers are exactly the same with the exception of the sliding pins. The Ate ones are external and the Girling ones are internal. With the internal pins they tend to get moisture and crud inside and sieze up. This causes uneven pad wear and dragging calipers. With the external pins supported in a thin rubber bushing like the Ate setup you never have this problem.

I need to rebuild all of my calipers before I take it out on the track this spring, I am strongly considering the swap to ATE calipers.
