    Pad reccomendations for 318i w/E30 M3 brakes

A buddy of mine has full E30 M3 suspension and brakes on his 91 318i. He is looking to change out his pads since they're about toast and I am wondering what you guys reccomend. He will be running Brembo rotors [either drilled or slotted, I forget]. This car is a daily driver but also will hit the track once in a while.

    Thanks.

      Ditto that.

HPS have awesome grip, little noise, and little dust.

Hard to find a better combo IMHO

tirerack has them. You may find a better price if you hunt around, but they are pretty reasonable...

It sounds like HPS and Ultimates are fairly comparable. I go with the Ultimates since BMA stocks them.

I would say I like them too, but I fear Julien will fall from the sky cursing my car for my shitty brakes.

In reality I really need to bleed my brake lines. But I like the pads.

I will say that the very first stop when they are dead cold in the morning leaves a little to be desired, but after that they rock.

Awesome, I will throw both of those suggestions his way. Since BMA is a few minutes away that's perfect.

I'm with Toad, except FAP99.com has them even cheaper.

My Ultimates held up well with my street tires at Thunderhill. It's got lots of straightaway, so many guys really pay attention to what pads they run there. I got the thumbs up for Ultimates from guys with hardcore daily drivers there.

Another thumbs up for Hawk HPS.
I like them so much that I put them on my mom's e34 touring, too.

                            +1 for Hawk HPS.
I have them with stock Balo rotors. I got mine from bimmerworld last year.

Airik, I think I'm going to step up to HP+'s soon before the July school, what do you think? Mine are alot better now, but I still think I overheated them with the excessive stopping distances I was needing to use in 10 (nailing them WAY back at the 250 marker). I think the distance and longer time on the brakes added up to excessive heat.
