Hey, I was wondering if replacing the old control arms w/ aftermarket arms plus new bushings would improve my steering response.

If the ball joints are worn to the point that there is any motion in the joint replacing the control arms will help. In a like manner if the bushings are bad replacing them will help. But that may not be a full solution as worn tie rods, a worn rack, or improper alignment also contribute to poor steering response and a lack of directional stability. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
