    Shaky steering-wheel when braking (E30)

It shakes pretty bad only when i hit the brake.
Feels like having the front wheels wobble so bad.
    Lug nuts are well torqued.

Anyone knows how to DIY this?

    Thanks alot

possibly the CABs, mine did that pretty bad so i put on some AKG CABs and it went away, but now its back so i think my problem is either CA ball joints, or tie rods, dont know tho

it can be control arm bushings, control arm ball joints, tie rods, brakes rotors. It is best to just replace all of it since you have to disconnect all of the above to replace basiclly just one thing. And it alot easier to just put new control arms on instead of tring to press out and in new ball joints. Also just as easy to replace new tie rods as well. The control arm bushings can be replaced fairly easy with new ones without replaceing the lollipops. Or you can go with new lolli's as well but the bushing that comes in them is not as good as going to a e36 bushing or even poly's or e30 m3 ones. It is really hard to figure out what is wrong with yours put that pretty much covers all the basis.

HELLO!!! Warped brake rotors! If you want a cheap fix take the rotors down to your local PepGirls and have em machine em out for $8 each or just replace them. And what the hell does well torqued mean. They are or they are not. Did you use a torque wrench? Not using one is exactly what warps rotors. And I'll bet atomic has a really nice car because by the looks of his diag, everything in the area gets replaced... If you want to check for play in suspension components jack up the front end and try to wobble each wheel side to side and then top to bottom. If you feel play, have a buddy shake the wheel while you get down with a flashlight and find the bad part. If there's play side to side AND up and down, look at the wheel bearing.

Start cheap. It's probably bad pad transfer on your rotors. You can take them somewhere and have them turned like mentioned or you can even sand down the high spots (yes you can see them) in your own garage. Then go back and do an agressive bedding process. If it goes away and comes back, try a different pad compound. If that's not the problem, then look at more expensive and time consuming things like CABs etc.

i would use this as an excuse to upgrade. i'm thinking complete m3 suspension conversion.
