    brake wire problems

    My anti-lock and brake lining lights are both on, popped off the front left wheel to find this..


    Ok, obviously needs replacing, whats this line called? It is the one that leads to the brake pad sensor. It is #1 in the picture below..



    #2 is the ABS (I guess?), the rubber outer casing is broken, but the wires seem to be ok. I figured I might as well replace everything though.

    It didn't look like they unhook at any of the mounting points (either below the numbers or before they go back up into the body). Where do these wires unhook? I found them coming into the engine bay, but they go right into the fuse box, and I have no idea how to go about opening that up. They look in good shape up in the engine bay, but I figure I'd replace the lower ones if thats possible.

    hopefully my explanation/problem isn't hard to understand..

    There should be some whitish yellow plugs just inside the engine bay. They kind of look like an older style glass fuse holder.

    Why not just splice the wire back together? Go buy some connects that have heat shrink on them and connect it back together. Cheap easy fix.
