    BBK options

What if any BBK options do I have if I want to keep my Ronal ACT LS wheels and upgrade my brakes?

I have 2 sets of Ronals (one street, one autocross) and to change wheels for a brake upgrade is cost prohibative.

    Thanks

What size wheels? rule of thumb is your rims have to be 4" larger in diameter than your brakes.

My wheels are 15x7.5 correct offset. I don't have a problem adding wheel spacer if I need more clearance that way.

I checked with Massive Lee and he said his kits won't clear my wheels.

Are there any junkyard receipes that people are using for E30's? Calipers off another make, rotors off another, etc.

Buy good rotors with good brake pads.

Some UUC slotted rotors with Hawk HPS pads will be great improvement before taking a step into the BBK crowd.

I'm currently running Ferodo pads with PowerSlot rotors.

My car has an S50. The extra weight and power make stopping a little more difficult with the stock setup compared to the M20.

                Hi buddy

Ireland Engineering has produced their own version of a BBK using sliding calipers. The design is clever but the execution has suffered from a few problems, such as bending brackets. The glitches have been solved since then. With their kit, you will add more braking power to your car while not needing the extra clearance that a true fixed racing caliper requires. BTW With any engine upgrade, more braking is a welcome addition.

Some kit with 300mm x 32mm discs and 4-pot race calipers (not Dynalite) will fit certain 15" wheels :pimp: (like Team Dynamic's Pro Race wheels). That same kit with 300mm x 21mm HD rotors can even be easier to fit while offering better clearance (Kosei K1). Of course, 16" wheels make fitting easier.

Massive Lee -- I know you have been selling E30 brake systems for a while now. Have any of your customers tried to fit your brakes with Ronal ACT LS 15x7.5 wheels?

Can it work with wheel spaces to change the offset?

I like the idea of stopping but I don't like the idea of selling 2 sets of wheels (one that has new Kumho autocross tires).

Hi e30pq. ACT's LS are great wheels. I had two sets. But they don't have enough room to accept a bigger caliper.
