The replacement spring kit comes with two different springs, for each side, one with a small bend, the other w/o the bend. Which one goes on top by the adjuster? This for an E30 with rear disk brakes and drum for the parking brake.

Well, I figured it out by trail and error. The spring with the bend has to have the bend facing inward, toward the center, and goes on top by the adjuster. If you put the straight springs by the adjuster they get caught by the screwdriver when adjusting the brakes, and make it very difficult to turn the adjuster. Hence the dent, I guess.
