Need brake pads for my Wilwood, LEE?

Maybe you can help me on this one Lee.

I have the smart pad I think (bough it long time ago but I really don't know if was that odel or Polymatrix) but it sucks big time due two things:

    - Dust like hell

    - It won't stand up the abuse I give the brakes in street use when it does get hot.

What pads would you recomend me to get, I could life with a none cold brake pad model, but it has to BITE hard in hot situations.

I would liek to buy these from you directly an dknow if you can shipp em as soon as possible before this comming saturday, my friend it's leaving Miami, FL on sunday comming to peru and would like to get the pads with him.

I have the Superlite 4 piston (biggest) and got the wdest caliper (for wide rotors) but i had custom machined it to reduce since the rotor I got was custom also.

    Thanks

    -Diego

Smart pads BP10 and 20 are what Wilwood retailers will recommend for the street. It is an okay pad but nothing extraordinary. It is indeed a bit dusty. My recommendation would be Wilwood's Q compound which is ceramic-based. Much less dusty than most pads and quite friendly. It is a street pad that can take the abuse of track events. Maybe other people can chime in on their Q compound. It is what I use around town.

Nonetheless Diego, I suggest you also check your problem with your exagerated front bias.

In regard of the BP10 or 20 not being suitable for track, I tested a set on an e46 M3 racecar which had Polymatrix H compound pads. We got pretty thin on them, so we swapped to some BP20 for a practice session. After 3 laps, they melted like butter and gave us a very soft brake pedal. Not good for track abuse. I have friends tracking their e30s with Q pads. Best pad for a light e30 would be the E pad but it squeals around town and dust a bit. For a heavy car, I would recommend H compound pads.

        Hi Diego

Saturday will be a bit short and I am afraid to miss your deadline. I can have a set shipped from Wilwood (California) or from Montreal, but in both cases, 4 days is as short as it can be.

Maybe you can see if there's a Wiwood retailer in Florida that has part # 15Q-6829K in stock. Insist on "in stock" as very few have inventory on location. They very usually have parts drop shipped from California.

Never mind Lee, just make me a quote directly from you if you can, forget the deadline time. He will be back here 1 month later after he return to FL. Hopefully my current pads will hold for lil while.

            Thanks
